Certificate IV In Optical Dispensing Record Of Training (ROT) Booklet – ACOD

This is a requirement of ODOB and must be completed before registering to practice. Please download the ROT from the ODOB website: https://www.odob.health.nz/site/registration/dispensing-optician

USE OF TITLES IN THE WORKPLACE: All enrolled students should use the title “Optical Assistant” rather than any title containing the term “Dispensing Optician.” Other variations can be misleading, and it is important to ensure the public is not confused about your current registration status. You must not use a title that implies you hold a higher qualification or more experience than you currently have.

OptiBlocks

OptiBlocks Education Committee is a committee dedicated to Student education within ADONZ. It was created to help liaise with our education providers. Education is delivered via a Distance Learning Course for trainee dispensing opticians and which also incorporates workshop blocks to facilitate hands on learning, giving students an opportunity to consolidate their theoretical studies with practical laboratory sessions and lectures. They work closely with current education provider ACOD. Students are able to qualify for New Zealand registration, and for various honours qualifications, and seek to promote and further the interests of qualified dispensing opticians.
